Job Title: Customer Service Representative - Call Center

Department: Operations/Call Center - Frankfort 30 - 7626 W. Lincoln Highway, Frankfort, IL

Job Status: Non-Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Employee must consistently deliver superior customer service and represent the Bank in a professional manner.
  • Understand bank products and be able to respond to questions.
  • Employee must be comfortable navigating the core system and locating information needed to respond transaction inquiries, statement dates, changes of address, etc.
  • Coordinate with related departments, and accurately document customer service needs that are not able to be closed out in one phone call.
  • Take requests for maintenance on existing accounts - including overdrafts, product questions, check orders, on-line banking questions, etc.
  • Balances and repairs captured teller work
  • Verify daily maintenance on existing accounts for accuracy of input and proper authorization by the customer or approving officer - including, but not limited to, transfer requests, address and phone number changes, account type changes, interest plan changes, card maintenance and reissues, etc.
  • Verify new account input, checking for accuracy and making certain that customer records contain all required information for the type of account.
  • Work with various retail managers to report missing/incomplete information and follow-up to make sure it is either gathered and input in a timely fashion, or account is frozen/closed as appropriate.
  • Spot cross-selling opportunities and make appropriate referrals to expand and retain both new and existing relationships.
  • Participate in community activities.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies and government regulations by completing assigned training plans in a timely fashion and adhering to the operational controls and procedures to ensure safety and security of customer and bank assets.
  • Various other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential documents and situations.
  • Requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented and consistently produce high quality accurate work
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Required:

  • Prior customer service and/or personal banking experience is preferred.

Education required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; two year college degree or specialized training or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all customers and co-workers.
  • Project a positive image of the bank through a neat appearance and professional manner.
  • Operate a teller drawer to serve customers and/or bank personnel by:
  • Accepting commercial and consumer deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, and processing transactions on the computer.
  • Identify customers vs. non-customers and follow the check cashing policies.
  • Provide additional customer services including cashier’s checks, money orders, traveler’s cheques, savings bonds, license stickers, stamps, etc.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and follow teller difference policy.
  • Comply with all department, bank, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating workflow.
  • Recognize potential cross-sell opportunities and direct customers to appropriate bank personnel.
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and bank objectives and goals.
  • May be responsible for bank opening/closing
  • Travel between branches is required; some travel between banks may be necessary
  • May assist with training new employees and answering co-workers questions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
